28 - Happy VD

February 14, 2010

I was freaking out when I looked at that cup. I almost threw up because of two things - realizing that that just came out of me, and the pain my body was in. So they gave me some antibiotics, which helped clear it out right away, but aren’t helping with any of the side effects my sickness has brought on (nausea and tiredness, mainly), which explains why I haven’t drawn a new comic in a while. Also, Allan bought me a WoW subscription. So there’s another reason I haven’t been drawing…

And no, I do not have an STD. You can guess what I have, though, if you want. I’ll tell you when you’re right.

Happy Valentine’s day! :D

  2. RAwrr says:

So what is wrong? Do you know?

  3. Phibrizzo says:

Symptoms you’ve posted could describe alot of illnesses.

  4. Superdude says:

    do you have pregnancy?

  5. Carey says:

yeah. liam, but she peed out the baby obvs. that’s why she almost threw up.

but seriously, feel better, amanda! D:

  6. Xaksaroph says:

urinary tract infection? i think thats how you spell it. i had that. they thought i might have clamidia too. they was wrong, happpy face for that.
hope you get better soon! i like reading your updates =)

  7. Phibrizzo says:

    Superdumb is more like it

  8. White Rhino says:

All I can think of, from the info given is either.. miscarriage (which sucks a lot) or kidney stones (which sucks less).

Either way, yeah, get well soon. =/

  9. Domosin says:

You got some kind of Itis i bet.

  10. ggg says:

    urinary tract infection.

  11. somethingoriginal says:

UTI! Congrats. I’m just going to assume that if I had kidney stones, or a babby or something, that I wouldn’t be updating. :P

  12. Phibrizzo says:

while UTI is not an STD, it can be caused by sex, and condoms do not protect against it.

this happens more in some women for reasons i will not go into here

hopefully your doctor explained this to you. if not, i can tell you why via msn or w/e

or anyone else who might be curious as to why

  13. Monk says:

Urghh Amanda. You really shouldn’t call a comic about peeing in a cup for the doctor “happy VD”. Not sure if you yanks also abbreviate ‘vaginal discharge’ but we do. I feel sick now too.
    GET WELL SOOOON!

  14. Megan DG says:

Oh good god I am glad it wasn’t a baby, I was scared for a minute D:

  15. Lawler says:

I guessed UTI as well, I had one of those right after I first started getting it on…felt like my bladder was having seizures and other unpleasant feelings!

  16. acolyte says:

    :( feel better soon!!

  17. UTI prevention says:

Drink cranberry juice and eat fresh pineapple. UTI can lead to infertility and I assume you don’t want that.

  18. Plette says:

yeah, that sounded like a UTI. Funny how often doctors jump to STDs when college students are involved. First thing you learn in med school: all college students are liars and sex maniacs lol

Hope you feel better, Amanda! Love your comic :) Keep up the good work!

  19. somethingoriginal says:

Phibrozzo: Yeah, I know the reasons why I specifically got it, and I actually find it quite amusing.

Monk: VD = Venereal Disease ;3

And I’ve consumed over 2 jugs of cranberry juice when I first got it, and plan on drinking a lot more in the future. This was not a fun experience at all, but one I’ve been through before.

Thanks to everyone who’s commented so far! I appreciate your comments, suggestions, and sympathies.

  20. acolyte says:

i’d go for the fresh pineapple over the cranberry juice.

    cranbrry juice is f’kin nasty

  21. cesar says:

get well so u can update :) XD

  22. Tasa says:
