You’ve been doing a comic for a much shorter amount of time than Allan has; you have tremendous potential, just give it time to come out. Take a sketchbook with you everywhere, and doodle things whenever you have downtime. Try to sketch your favorite tv show characters in different expressions, try doodling crazy antics of people you know, just do things you wouldn’t normally do, and that will force you to step outside your norm and experiment.

You and Allan are both VERY good are drawing, and at making comics. You both have gotten better over time, he just has a head start on the whole comic thing

Don’t worry, everyone feels like this, and I’m sure there are things that Allan is envious about that you’re better at.

I love both your styles of art, and i enjoy constantly checking both of your websites for updates. I too am starting a journal type comic and someday want to put it on the interwebs like you and Allan. You both were my inspiration for my comic.

There’s an exercise you can do, called the ‘phonebook exercise” where you take an old phonebook, and a thick marker, and just draw, that way you learn to be looser with stuff.

That’s how my own Amanda feels many times–but with music/music composition. Though, it’s not actually true. Just like in this situation, the girl is amazing in a different, and more perfectionistic way.
